Assessing the Current Situation

  • At present few nonprofit or for-profit companies are addressing Diet-based Cancer Prevention in a systematic, research-based way.
  • NIH and other sources fund very few research proposals that examine Diet Impact on Cancer.
  • Current research dollars are focused on:
  • (1) Pharmaceuticals/drug/chemotherapy development
  • (2) Medical procedures
  • (3) Medical equipment for analysis
  • (4) Nutritional benefits of high-profit food offerings
  • (5) Other responses to disease symptoms
  • (6) And a dearth of funding for disease prevention research
  • Yet the entire human population would benefit from knowledge of the foods that eaten frequently are known through research to promote cancer.
  • When the benefits of cancer prevention research are made clear to the public, we expect strong public financial support and volunteerism.
  • Much scattered cancer prevention data exists, but is not yet indexed or linked into a usable, accessible source.
  • There is a unique opportunity to organize this data into useful cancer prevention information and present it via various media and sources to educate the public.
  • Given this assessment of the current situation, a group of us have decided to form "The Cancer Education Center, Inc." , a non-profit California Corporation, doing business as www.EndCancerNow.org
  • Establishing Our Mission

    Our Mission is to equip people with skills to make diet choices aimed at cancer prevention.

    To achieve this goal, we will:

  • Define, sponsor and organize research to accurately "score" the true nutritional values for common foods in the marketplace;
  • Widely and freely broadcast, publish, distribute catalogs of foods, their scores (immediate and long term nutritional values) and back up our findings with links to the research data;
  • Accept charitable donations and volunteer assistance to support research and education regarding the use of food scoring to make informed food choices for cancer prevention
